2 AMP or not 2 AMP?

For the most part, if a charger fits in the charger port it works.  There are a few exceptions these days:

1.  If you are too low on your AMPs you device will charge slowly, and maybe even cause hard to your phone or battery!  Many of the larger phones these days prefer a higher AMP charger (2.1).  Check to see what your device came with as a guide.  It will say on the home charger cube you got with your device.  Most all tablets, iPads and e-readers require 2.1 AMP.  If your device gets warm while charging, unplug it.  While too high an AMP won’t harm your device, too low of an AMP can.  Devices have regulators built in to control the amount of charge coming into the device to avoid over charging, but if you have too low a charge it can heat your device and cause long term damage!

2.  MFI (Made For iPhone) is a scenario Apple created by inserting a “chip” into their charging blocks that when absent will trigger the phone to have a message that the charger may not work.  All of Chat Cat Apple (lighting) chargers are now MFI.  Some found on the internet or other stores may not be.  Look for MFI on the charging block and/or packaging.
